La Nostra casa per la settimana!

Let me introduce you to La nostra casa per la settimana! (our home for the week)

Our Villa is within easy reach of Naples train station and sits close enough for car day trips to Positano.

Enter into this substantial Villa which easily welcomes up to 16 guests!  It is the ultimate luxury escape; steeped in history, with breathtaking views, wonderful gardens and a yoga zen views.

If you are looking for a relaxing Yoga Holiday in a beautiful Villa, in a glorious location, with fun day trips to Positano and Capri, this is the Yoga Retreat experience and exploration to be excited about!

This beautiful Villa is within easy reach of Positano.  It is also the perfect base for exploring the many attractions of the Sorrento Peninsula and beyond, particularly with day trips organized to the famous Positano and Capri which are a boat and/or car ride away.

The Mediterranean garden is simply beautiful, encircling and protecting the Villa as it has done for centuries. Each season offers something to admire! In the Spring we can admire the magnolia tree and the scent of jasmine and ripening fruits in both spring and summer.

A beautiful swimming pool and Jacuzzi is surrounded by wooden decking, the pool is a blissful place to relax in the sunshine, with the views stretching out before you. The heated Jacuzzi is for up to eight people. It is filled with spring water from a well in the grounds and purified with chlorine-free products. It is the perfect place to unwind. Afterwards, soak up the sunshine on a sun lounger, or chill out beneath the shade of one of the ancient trees.

Sea views

From the terrace on the second floor, you can breathe in the timeless view of the Bay of Naples, dotted with the Islands of Capri, Procida and Ischia. It is hard to conceive of a better place to enjoy a drink at sunset! We also practice yoga on the terrace alongside these breath-taking views!

There are two sitting rooms on the second floor, with comfortable sofas!  Both have panoramic views of the hillsides sweeping down to the blue sea beyond.

Yoga space

Flavourful classes will be guided in a beautiful yoga space or zen room and/or outdoors!  Both are lovely, calm and bright. So many outdoor settings to choose from while to immerse ourselves in the sea and sunset views!

Standing proudly on the hillside, this Villa is surrounded by around two acres of land, rich with fruit and citrus trees; and a large olive grove, still yielding a crop of extra virgin oil to this day.

Although the building itself has undergone several transformations through the ages, the atmosphere of peace, and the sense of belonging to the land remains. Renovated throughout, the villa retains the atmosphere of the past, with wooden beamed ceilings, tall shuttered windows, antique fireplaces and fine furnishings, carefully selected to compliment each room.

Guests are welcome to help themselves to organically grown produce, including many fresh herbs. The huge variety of fruit trees within the gardens include passion fruit, kiwi, apple, pear, cherry, apricots, plums, mulberries, cherries, elderberries, pomegranates, oranges, tangerines, lemons and figs –

The double bedrooms are on different levels of the Villa, spacious and charming!

The bathrooms are modern and pretty.

There is also an Annex next to the yoga space with double beds and bathrooms with picturesque views.

Josie is empathetic, warm and forever optimistic and regular doses of smiles and laughter are essential in her world. Josie attended the 500 hour Moksha Yoga Teacher Training in Toronto in the summer of 2010, after recognizing the positive impact yoga has had on her life. Since graduating, Josie has been teaching varying yoga styles for over 8 years and has been practicing yoga for over 10 years.  Josie owns a quaint and inviting yoga studio, North of Toronto, where she guides Hatha, Vinyasa and Restorative in her classes.

Feel safe in Josie's presence as she mixes various types of yoga in each class while adhering to the physical and emotional needs of her guests.

Josie will eloquently guide you through your yoga practice and help you to focus on breathe awareness, body movement and proper alignment using varying yoga styles depending on the flow of energy and the flow of the class. Josie's classes are never scripted as she likes to mix it up. With each class, lift your spirits as Josie recites insightful quotes to help you add intention to your practice.

Josie has been guiding and facilitating yoga retreats both local and abroad for over 5 years and also has "tapped into" the request for seasonal Yoga+Wine events at a local Winery (Gallucci Winery) in Stouffville, Ontario over the past couple of years. Josie hosts yearly Yoga Retreats at the Lotus Heart Centre in Brighton, Ontario.

Josie has co-hosted a Yoga Holiday in Tuscany in May of 2017, in Amalfi Coast, Positano, in April of 2018 and in Amalfi coast, just outside of Positano in May, 2019. She looks forward to returning to host in 2020!

Josie has been intrigued to host more Yoga Retreats in Italy! Her background is Italian so this is an exciting way for her to also be exposed to her roots and immerse herself into the language and culture.

A professional Italian Grandma will prepare various  meals and a couple of lunches and dinners will be arranged at various restaurants overlooking beautiful views. Meals included are breakfast, (lunches on non excursion days and daily dinners).  Enjoy this preparation with fresh local ingredients, in which we will sit down and enjoy.  Each dish is prepared with attention to detail and authentic to Italian culture.

In the Italian culture meals are an important way to connect people and a means to celebrate.  The dining room has access to a seating area outside, with tables, chairs and umbrellas. Just one of many charming places to eat al fresco within the extensive gardens of the property.

Positano is located in the Southern part of Italy, in the heart of the Sorrento peninsula dividing two of Italy’s most beautiful bays: the bay of Naples and the bay of Salerno. The village itself is built around a small curving bay on a steep hill overlooking the island of the Sirens.

You can also visit La Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta (the Church of Santa Maria Assunta) in Positano and discover the history behind it.

Ferries dock at Marina Grande. Our private boat will dock in an area where you can either take the funicular up to the charming Piazzetta, the heart of Capri town, or the bus to Anacapri, which though still touristy, is more residential and tranquil. The cost of a one-way ticket is €1.80, and can be used for the bus and funicular.

Head to Anacapri and start your day on the top of the world! At least, it feels that way when you’re up on Monte Solaro, the island’s highest point. A chair lift takes you up for €10 (round-trip). While this may seem costly, believe us: The splendid views are priceless.

Another gorgeous place to get sweeping views of Capri is Villa San Michele. If you love beautiful gardens as much as we do, this is a real gem! Built in the early 20th century by Axel Munthe, a Swedish physician, it’s home to an enchanting and serene garden that’s billed as one of the top 10 gardens in Italy. With spectacular panoramic views, dreamy pergolas, and surrounded by a variety of flowers and plants, it’s paradise! (Ticket cost: €7).

The Blue Grotto is a sea cave on the coast of the island of Capri, southern Italy. Sunlight, passing through an underwater cavity and shining through the seawater, creates a beautiful blue reflection that illuminates.

Thankfully the weather at the end of May and mid Sept is beautiful!  I can delightfully say that the temperatures by day are normally about 22-28 degrees and by night about 13-15. Some guests enjoy to swim in the sea or bask in the sun for a beach day,  Flowers will be blooming in May and Sept in full bloom. Both are beautiful seasons for exploration!
